26th Annual Turkey Trot

Starts at the Norwich Family YMCA on North Broad Street, Norwich
This annual event draws runners of all ages to compete in the 5K race, which follows a route through the city of Norwich. Awards are presented to division winners--based on age and gender. A shorter distance Kids Fun Run will kick off the event. Registration is required for the 5K race.

Afton Village Winter Carnival & Parade

Ice sculptors from around the state turn 300 hundred pound blocks of ice into beautiful sculptures that will be displayed throughout the holiday season. Other activities include: breakfast with Santa, a chicken BBQ, crafts, a Christmas parade (starting at 5:00) a bonfire, food, games and lots more. Annual Chenango Lake Perch Derby

Sponsored by the Oxford Lions Club, ice-fishing enthusiasts of all ages are invited to gear up for the Perch Derby ice fishing event held on Chenango Lake. Prizes throughout the day, a raffle, as well as $1000 cash for the first tagged perch caught. Proceeds will support community and area projects.

Tarab Cello Ensemble

The Tarab Cello Ensemble has been a guest ensemble in residency at Princeton University, Patel Conservatory, and at the University of South Florida in Tampa. This 8 piece cello group is dedicated to the commissioning and performance of twenty-first century music written by American composers. Since their inception in 2000, they have premiered over 20 works.
